As you may or may not know Vous is a locally owned and managed business.  We feel as though it is our duty to inform you when one of our members in our community needs our help.  Our eyes were opened to a local family in need.  As a community, it is our duty to join together and help each other.  This month as well as send out our monthly specials we are asking for your help, as we are doing everything possibly to help this family we ask that you join in our efforts.

The Roth family (of Norco) welcomed their son Tripp into this world two short months ago.  In that time, Tripp has been diagnosed with Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa, or JEB. Tripp has the most severe form of the disease.

Tripp's dad, Randy, is the assistant director for the St. Charles Parish Recreation Department.  As someone who gives back to this community on a daily basis, we feel it is important to spread the word about his son.

Vous is collecting donations to assist Randy and Courtney with the care of their new son.  We will take anything you have to offer - money, giftcards (Walgreen or CVS for the expense of Tripp's Medicines, grocery stores, gas stations, etc.) prayers, or anything you see fit.

What is JEB?

JEB is one of the major forms of epidermolysis bullosa.  The signs and symptoms of this condition vary widely among affected individuals.  Severe cases of this condition, which Tripp is, involve widespread blistering that can lead to vision loss, disfigurement, and other serious medical problems.

Affected infants are typically born with widespread blistering and areas of missing skin, often caused by trauma during birth.  Most often, blisters are present over the whole body and affect mucous membranes such as the moist lining of the mouth and digestive tract.  As blisters heal, they result in sever scarring which can make it difficult to chew and swallow food, leading to chronic malnutrition and slow growth.  Additional complications of progressive scarring can include fusion of the fingers and toes, loss of fingernails and toenails, joint deformities that restrict movement, and eye inflammation leading to vision loss.  Additionally, young adults with the classic form of JEB have a very high risk of developing a form of skin cancer which tends to be unusually aggressive and is often life threatening.
